June Highlights-Almost A Day Late and a Dollar Short

With all that has been going on I haven't had time to post my June highlight display. Well, it IS still June for a few more hours...
My parents celebrated their anniversary on the 15th of June...their 53rd.
Here is their wedding album, invitation, and a matchbook and a little box with their names and wedding date printed on top. As was the custom, a piece, a very tiny piece, of cake was given to to the guests to take home. Legend was that single ladies would place the cake box under their pillows and dream about the one they would someday marry.
There is even a napkin folded from their wedding in the box. Cheers...the reception was held in my grandparents' back yard.

The getaway.

Beautiful hands and rings.

This poem was a gift I gave them on their 50th anniversary.

This picture was taken at our family dinner celebration for their golden anniversary...50 years.

Don't Worry...God Provides

Are you a worrier? I lean that way, but try to remind myself that God is the one in charge. The Bible says to consider the sparrow...it doesn't worry about what it will eat or drink...or anything else for that matter. . God provides. Well He has provided for us this week. My Daddy had a heart attack last Monday, and went by ambulance to the hospital. They did a heart cath and found blockage, but it took two tries to get a stent in due to a severe reaction to the benadryl they premedicated him with. We will surely never give him Benadryl again! He is home and doing well...just weak from a week in bed. Praise the Lord for is provision. The photo is just outside our window. Mama bird landed just at the time I took this picture. Does anyone know what kind of bird that is?

A Few of My Favorite Things...for summer

I do love summertime...and the livin is easy...

I have decorated my chalkboard pantry door with some of my favorite summer memories...
watermelon, swimming, lemonade, ice cream, flowers, green grass, strawberries, sno-cones, screened porch, vacation, popsicles, bicycles, picnics, fireflies, sunshine, tomatoes...

I forgot about flipflops and going barefooted.
Summertime has always been a favorite time for me. I have fond memories of all these things growing up. What are your favorite summertime memories?
