This weekend was quite productive, I will say. We started out by balancing statements for 3 bank accounts , and going through old files and thinning them out. I hate those kind of projects, but I do feel good once they are done. We had a huge bag of "throw away" papers, and a large bag to burn the next time we light the "burn pile". We live in the country, so our debris has to be burned periodically.
Four of the five dogs got baths. Our backs would not hold out to bathe Keely. We will get to her next time.
I did 5 loads of laundry yesterday (I have my parents laundry to do, too) and two more today. Joey did some yardwork, and we are tired.
BUT, we did get a project done that I will share with you. Here is a picture of the front porch at Jackson's birthday party in early July. The rocking chairs were looking a little tired...so...
We painted them...
RED...
so much better...
don't you think?
Here is the first one in her place...
and the finished project...
and the finished project...
I am so pleased at the way they turned out.
Red makes me Happy!

Great job.
Just beautiful!! Red really makes a difference, they just "pop" on your front porch.
(I am going to paint some porch furniture red, tomorrow... :)
Wow! I was pooped after reading about all those projects!! I really love how beautiful your rocking chairs came out! Love the shade of red you chose. I have a wood bench I want to paint red, what brand and color did you use if I may ask? They turned out great and look perfect on your front porch! Lol! You have a grandson named Jackson, I have a grandson named Lincoln. Don't you love those strong presidential names!! Have a great week!
Red looks terrific on your chairs.

The rockers look good red. Sounds like you have had a busy weekend.
Another hot day!
I love them! Great color choice!
Looks GREAT! I LOVE anything RED!
OOooooo! I love them RED! They're perfect for the porch, and what a pop of color! Stunning, and perfect for your glorious porch. I can just picture having a glass of iced tea out there with friends. Oh how I miss our front porch! Great post, thank you!
That's a HAPPY-MAKING color!! I know you just wander out for a look, or peek out the windows, or walk WAY out in the yard and look back, to get the full effect.
I wish I had your young energy---I've had the cream paint for this old knotty-pine hutch for a year now, and everybody's gone to the beach house for a week but Chris and me, but I just can't make myself think about unloading all the glassware out of that thing and GETTING IT OUTSIDE!!
I just love the IDEA of it, I think. Your idea and completion are so beautiful!!
Nice job! Love the red. I have to share this with a friend who wants to repaint her rockers ;-).

Those chairs look really good painted red. I do all my spray painting in the yard, too.
Oh my gosh, the chairs look awesome in red--great idea!!!
If you've got a chance, I'm hoping that you can post that Sweet Home Alabama is your favorite song and link it up to the Link Party...I love that song! (It has special meaning in my life.)
Hugs,
Cindy
